Dear families, Please remember that school will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of the holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. We wish everyone a safe and wonderful three-day weekend! 💙💛💙
Last week, our 8th-grade students embarked on an unforgettable class trip filled with thrills and sweet treats. The adventure kicked off at Six Flags, where the students conquered towering roller coasters, laughed through the midway games, and bonded outside the classroom. The excitement continued with a fascinating stop at the Jelly Belly Factory, where everyone loved discovering the science behind candy-making and the history of Jelly Belly's.

Yesterday, a group of excited TK through 3rd-grade students embarked on a memorable field trip to Frog Pond. The young explorers spent their day connecting with nature. 💙🌞

Today was an exciting Science Day at school! ☀️🚗
Students teamed up to design and build their very own solar-powered cars using creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. After putting their engineering to the test, the students raced their cars to see whose design could harness the sun’s energy the best!
It was amazing to watch students collaborate, think critically, and have so much fun while learning about science and renewable energy. Great job to all of our future engineers and innovators!

Last week, our 4th–8th grade students had the opportunity to visit the Tule Lake Monument for a meaningful field trip. They explored the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps camp and gained a deeper understanding of the people and stories that shaped this important site. It was a great day of learning, reflection, and connection to our local history!

This week we celebrate the amazing teachers and staff who inspire, support, and uplift our students every day. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and our community is stronger because of you. Thank you for everything you do here at Hornbrook Elementary. Happy Teachers and Staff Appreciation Week! 🍎✏️✨
